Training
Training
is a key component of State Guard Service. We assiduously prepare to
respond to any emergency within the State of Tennessee so that we are
able to perform our assigned strategic, operational, and tactical
missions.

All State Guardsmen are required to obtain
CERT certification within their
first year of duty. This involves a combination
of classroom study and field training.

We train to build leadership. Competent and confident leaders are a
prerequisite to the successful training of ready units. Leader training and leader development are integral
parts of our unit readiness. Leaders are inherently soldiers first and
should be technically and tactically proficient in basic soldier skills.
They are also adaptive, capable of sensing their environment, adjusting
the plan when appropriate, and properly applying the proficiency
acquired through training.

There is no minimum enlistment period and members who find
that the State Guard is not for them
may submit a letter of resignation at any time. Unless otherwise warranted, an
Honorable Discharge will be granted. If you
would like more
information about our organization or would like to spend a day with us,
please contact act act act act MAJ Mason
Ezzell, or fill in
the request form on this page.
